This is a special time of year and in that spirit this weeks newsletter is focused on reflection and preparation.
I always sit down this time of year to reflect on the past year as well as put to paper my New Years goals. I have done this for decades and it’s always important to look back on how successful your year has been in terms of accomplishing your goals. Remember you can’t manage, what you don’t measure.
Here are 7-questions to reflect on from 2023 when you do take some time to review.
- What is a challenge you overcame this year? What did I learn from overcoming that?
- What was a surprise you dealt with this year?
- What was something you bought this year that you love?
- What’s the best book or Podcast you listened to or read this year?
- What are your blind spots for next year?
- What made me happiest this year?
- Name a person this year that you couldn’t have gotten through the year without?
Through reflecting on these questions there are a number of lessons that can be learned, as well as things I’m sure to be grateful for. This reflection will also assist you in setting your New Year goals and where you might put certain priorities.
