Leaders are not built overnight. Personal experiences and professional development form strong leaders through quality learning and development. Effective leaders aren’t stagnant ― they’re agile and committed to their personal evolution.

Successful leaders have a blend of skills that combine interpersonal communication, emotional intelligence and a servants heart 💜

Effective leaders cultivate strong teams.

A strong team performs tasks efficiently and adapts to internal and external factors, as needed. Everyone is responsible for building a strong team, and while it begins with leadership, everyone on the team has a role. A cohesive and collaborative company environment in which staff feel valued, heard and included boosts productivity and enhances workplace culture.

Change is inevitable, and obstacles vary in size and complexity. Great leaders have excellent critical thinking skills to identify, analyze, solve and execute strategies for each challenge. Change management is the process of helping colleagues accept, engage and positively harness change in their daily work routines.

During a big merger, for example, executive leadership needs to keep a business-as-usual mindset — to not disrupt productivity — and continually talk and work with their staff.

As the Leader, I am accountable for the culture of my workplace, and I will set an example with my actions.

Because you are in a leadership position, you have an obligation to develop a supportive workplace culture. An organization’s culture can provide insight into several things that can define its success or failure:

  • How it operates
  • How decisions are made
  • How employees feel about their role
  • How customers are treated

It’s true that the following 3-competencies in Leaders, leads to the highest performance results in an organization.

  1. Positive Relationships: Trust was directly correlated to how well a leader could foster connections and positive relationships with their people. The leaders with the highest levels of trust had the skills and competencies to balance results with caring for the wellbeing of their direct reports, frequently touching base on employees’ issues and concerns, promoting collaboration and cooperation, resolving conflict, and delivering constructive feedback.
  2. Sound Judgment and Expertise: Unsurprisingly, leaders who generated high levels of trust with their people were also seen to demonstrate sound judgment and expertise. In practice, people perceive these leaders to make good decisions, seek them out for their ideas and opinions, are seen as thought leaders for their depth of knowledge and expertise and can respond quickly to problems.
  3. Consistency: Leading by example and doing what they say they will do were behaviors in which employees rate their leaders high in trust. At work, these leaders are seen to be role models who set a good example where their actions speak louder than their words, always hold their commitments and kept promises, and are willing to get their hands dirty and go above and beyond no matter the situation.

Put the effort into becoming the best leader you can be and your people and company will thank you for it……..

Blessings 🙏
